I Finally Came Home...235 Photos Later

What could I have been doing?  I went off to Sperryville to meet clients that live in Winchester, VA.  They do not have a fax machine and needed to initial a few places on a contract we had just finished negotiating.  Not recalling (no surprise) whether I had ever been to Sperryville before I made sure I had a camera with me.

As I drove along the fun was spotting things that added to the story of the Lake Anna area.
That runs the gamut from cows, to old churches, to funky signs, to interesting mailboxes, to beautiful homes, to upscale boat houses, and everything and anything else I can find along the way.  Red Shed Downtown Sperryville, VA

What did I accomplish in five hours?  About 235 more photos which immediately were uploaded onto my computer along with the thousands of other photos.  Out of the 235 I will be fortunate to find 25 that I like.  Believe me, I am not looking for anything super, just some pictures that have decent composition and are somewhat interesting.  I'm a novice but having a wonderful time.Mustard Seed

It is through these photos that I hope to share with others the very essence of life at and around Lake Anna.  We don't have magnificent century old museums with wonderful architecture or skyscrapers that pierce the sky.  Instead we have down home things like farms, dirt roads, solitary homes long abandoned, open views of the ever changing sky, general stores, and many other things that provide a mixture of peacefulness and nostalgia.

These are photos taken in Sperryville.  That's right, I haven't gotten out of town yet!  Sperryville is really a very small community.  However, it impressed me.  Understated, charming, and liveable.  It appears to be a very nice place to live or visit.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures. Your insight about the Lake are delightful and seem right on target. It seems just like yesterday when you were orchestrating the Lake's 25th Anniversary. Time surely flies when you're happy at your home!
