When you are a REALTOR you become very accustomed to being asked this question.  Nowadays you hear it even more.  I am very sure that just about everyone knows the answer regarding today's market but perhaps they are hoping for just a glimmer of hope.  Just the possibility that you have some good news to share.  Anything that sounds a little promising.

Well, perhaps I do.  It may just be a small, small sign but it is encouraging.  After having a very slow November and December, January has been quite busy for not just myself but others in my office.  We have a number of buyers who are serious about buying. Of course they are looking hard and long, determined to find the best buy possible.  Knowing that it is now a buyer's market after years of rising prices and quick sales, buyer's are relishing the opportunity to take their time, consider all their options, and make the best deal they possibly can. 

This coming Saturday I could have had three appointments.  As that is physically impossible one of my colleagues is helping to show some properties for me.  It certainly helps to have fellow agents in your office that are experienced and willing to pitch in when needed.

When Saturday is over we will see if anyone has found a place that suits them.  Perhaps yes, perhaps no.  The main thing is that people are looking.  I find that to be a very encouraging sign.  Let's hope it continues.
