WHERE DO YOU SHOP?
As a REALTOR, this is another question I'm often asked. Where do you do your shopping? Well, I always answer that food is easy to come by. That leaves loads of other things that we, as professional consumers, are determined to purchase. For myself and many others that live out here at Lake Anna, the Internet is the place to go. Years ago when you lived in a more rural area like we do, you relied on the Sears catalog or the equally robust one from Montgomery Ward. Today we still receive way too many catalogs in the mail, usually from specialty shops. However, our biggest source of instant gratification, is the Internet. How easy it has made life. Need a birthday gift, some office supplies, exotic spices, electronics, a best seller you just have to read right NOW (Amazon.com gets it to you in a couple of days, sooner if you want to pay extra), DVDs delivered right to your door, clothing, sports equipment, pet supplies...in fact select your pet and it can be shipped directly to you, contact lenses, pictures developed, you name it and here it comes.
Two years ago I was planning a few trips. I was in need of some new clothes that would travel well. How easy it was to go on the Internet, search for wrinkle free clothing, find some sites, peruse them, make my selections and within days I had my wardrobe. Was I happy with my finds? Absolutely. I discovered a great source for travel clothes and have made additional purchases since then.
All of this leads me to be very comfortable telling folks that if they move here they will be able to spend all the money they want to, without even leaving home.
In another post I'll cover all of the great places to GO shopping, meaning you actually get in your car and go. There's no limit there either.
